Paris – Arc de Triomphe

The Arc stands at the head of the famous Champs-Elysees and commemorates those who died in the defense of France. Built between 1810 and 1838, the Arc is also home to the remains of the French Unknown from World War I. Each night the remains are honored in a tribute staged by veterans – quite different from Arlington, but inspiring in its own right. The view from the top is the best in Paris with the magnificence of the Eiffel Tower in full view. This poster features a photo and is from the 1970’s.
