In the 1970’s, Delta Airlines promoted its international and domestic routes through a series of posters by Jack Laycox, a renowned California artist. This Central Florida themed poster hints at all the adventures one could have in the Orlando area, including visiting a blue themed castle.
The SS Reliance was an ocean liner of the Hamburg American Line (HAPAG) known for its live aboard cruises. In 1937 it had spent five months on an around the world cruise which is mentioned in the poster. This would be among the last cruises for SS Reliance, later that summer while preparing for a cruise to Scandinavia, she caught fire in her homeport of Hamburg. She would be deemed a total loss and sold for breaking in 1940.
