Zoo – Hippopotamus

TR006

Waldemar Swierzy is one of Poland’s greatest artists and a father of the Polish CYRK school of poster art. In 1967 he created a series of 4 posters for the Warsaw Zoo, extolling Poles to “Visit the Zoo.” This is the hippopotamus variant. A great poster.

Staines

IT006

Staines is a country town on the River Thames, southwest  of London. This poster advertises service to the town by London General Omnibus Company (Who’s logo appears bottom right), which was at the time owned by the London Underground Group, operator of the London Subway System (London Underground). This combined system would eventually become known as London Transport.
